The day we receive your application becomes your priority date. Because our waiting lists are kept in date order, your priority date is very important. When a room becomes available, those with earliest priority date, on the active list, are contacted first.
At what point should I consider moving from my home to Sunset?
Moving to Sunset while in good physical and mental condition will ensure the smoothest transition possible. This allows maximum enjoyment of the amenities and services available to you.
What does Sunset consider during the admission interview?
The Admission Committee considers the social, medical & financial status of the perspective resident during the interview. In order to maximize your independence and lifestyle as a resident, we use the interview process to help verify that the area of Sunset you have chosen is where your needs can best be met. There is a specific admissions policy for each area available upon request.
After I accept a room, how long before I can move in?
Normally, your room will be ready within 30 days following acceptance. Remodeling an apartment may take longer, depending on the renovations being requested.
What are the steps to admission?
First, Sunset encourages you to explore senior living options in the community. Once you decide upon Sunset, we encourage you to fill out a waiting list application and select either the active or inactive waiting list. All units are filled according to the date an individual has signed up on the waiting list. When your name and date are reached, we will offer you a unit to consider and ask that you complete a social, medical and financial interview prior to admission.
